for Commercial & Urban Projects
Facade | Wall Washer | Linear Lighting | Smart Control Compatible
Growing Demand for Architectural LED Lighting Worldwide
Global urbanization and smart city initiatives are driving unprecedented demand for professional architectural lighting solutions.
Urban Development
Rapid urbanization in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa increases facade lighting demand for commercial and government buildings.
Visual Identity
Commercial complexes and hotels use architectural lighting to establish brand identity and create iconic nighttime skyline presence.
Smart City Integration
Government-led smart city projects integrate intelligent lighting control systems with DMX, DALI, and IoT-based management platforms.
LED Replacement Wave
Energy-efficient LED is rapidly replacing traditional metal halide and fluorescent systems, offering 60–80% energy savings and longer lifespan.
Challenges in Architectural Lighting Projects
Common engineering and quality issues that lighting designers and project contractors face on large-scale projects.
Uneven Wall Washing
Poor optical design creates bright spots and dark zones on facades, destroying the intended uniform wash effect.
Short Outdoor Lifespan
Low-quality fixtures degrade within 1–2 years outdoors. Premature LED decay and driver failure increase project maintenance costs.
Waterproof Seal Failure
Poor IP sealing allows moisture ingress after months of outdoor exposure, causing LED and driver failure from inside out.
Color Inconsistency
Different fixtures on the same facade show visible CCT and brightness variation — unacceptable on high-profile architectural projects.
No IES / Photometric Data
Many suppliers cannot provide IES files. Without photometric data, lighting designers cannot simulate and verify the design in Dialux.
Control Incompatibility
Fixtures not compatible with DMX512 or DALI protocols cannot be integrated into the building's central lighting management system.

FAQ — Architectural LED Lighting
Answers to common technical questions from lighting designers, engineers, and project contractors.
Architectural lighting refers to the illumination of building exteriors, facades, landmarks, and structural elements for aesthetic, branding, and safety purposes. It uses professional-grade LED luminaires including wall washers, linear lights, floodlights, and pixel systems to create visual impact on structures.
Facade lighting uses wall washers and linear lights mounted close to the building surface for uniform grazing or washing effects. Flood lighting uses high-power fixtures mounted at a distance to illuminate an entire facade or structure from afar. Many projects combine both approaches for layered lighting design.
The required IP rating depends on rain exposure, drainage, connectors, mounting orientation, and maintenance. Our current strip catalog includes IP65 and IP68 options; confirm the exact model and complete system design for each installation zone.
For narrow column highlighting, use 10°–15° spot beams. For standard wall washing on 3–5 story buildings, 25°–40° is typical. For wide facade coverage or short mounting distances, 45°–60° wide beams are needed. We provide IES files for each beam angle to help you simulate in Dialux before ordering.
DMX is required for dynamic color-changing facades, animated patterns, and media facade applications. For static single-color facade lighting, simpler 0-10V dimming or AC on-off is sufficient. DALI is preferred when the lighting needs to integrate with the building's central management system.
LED loading, ambient temperature, heat dissipation, driver quality, voltage drop, sealing, UV exposure, and installation workmanship all matter. Request model-specific test data and design the strip, profile, driver, connector, and control system together.
